Android is operating system for mobile. As we all know there are 2 very well known mobile OS in market Windows and Symbian. Symbian is proprietary software of NOKIA and Windows is own by Microsoft.
Android is OS developed by Google.
On 16 February 2010 Google announced that 60,000 cell phones with Android are shipping every day.According to the NPD group, the Android OS is the 2nd most popular Smartphone OS in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2010. BlackBerry OS and the iPhone OS are first and third respectively.
Speciality of Android OS is that its open source and rapidly developing OS. Once you purchase mobile hardware for Android you can keep updating firmware with latest release and get new features and enhancements so your phone features will keep updating always and mobile will be never boring.
